The Uninvited Ear
When U.S. District Judge Damon Keith ruled against warrantless surveillance, the government sued him personally. Keith called Dykema partner William Gossett. Gossett took the case pro bono and won 9-0 at the Supreme Court. The case helped bring down a presidency and established Fourth Amendment protections that endure more than 50 years later. It’s the foundation of Dykema's pro bono practice. And it’s proof that some things can’t have a price.
